How ARIA works

ARIA is our autonomous remediation and intelligence agent — it detects, classifies, and fixes infrastructure problems without human intervention.

1

Detect

Prometheus monitors 100+ metrics across every server. Alertmanager fires within seconds.

2

Classify

The alert is matched against 70+ known remediation handlers. If it's a known fix, no AI is needed.

3

Remediate

The handler executes the fix — restart a service, clean a disk, renew a cert. Blast radius is checked first.

4

Verify

The system confirms the fix worked. If it didn't, it escalates. You get a report — not a 3 AM page.

Real scenarios, real fixes

These are actual failure modes OpsKern handles automatically. No sandbox — this runs on production infrastructure.

Disk fills up

A server crosses 85% disk usage. ARIA identifies the largest consumers, cleans safe targets (logs, old packages, Docker build cache), verifies free space, and notifies you with what it removed.

Typical resolution: under 30 seconds

Container crashes

A Docker container exits unexpectedly. ARIA checks the exit code, inspects logs for the root cause, restarts the container with the correct configuration, and confirms the health check passes.

Typical resolution: under 15 seconds

Backup goes stale

A daily Restic backup misses its window. ARIA detects the missed snapshot, re-runs the backup job, verifies the new snapshot, and checks retention policy compliance.

Typical resolution: under 5 minutes

TLS certificate expiring

A certificate is within 14 days of expiry. ARIA triggers a renewal via Caddy's API, verifies the new certificate chain, and confirms HTTPS is serving the updated cert.

Typical resolution: under 60 seconds

Service OOM-killed

A process is killed by the Linux OOM killer. ARIA identifies the process, checks memory pressure across the host, restarts the service with appropriate limits, and monitors for recurrence.

Typical resolution: under 30 seconds

DNS resolution failure

Internal DNS queries start failing. ARIA checks BIND9 status, verifies zone files, restarts the resolver if needed, and validates resolution across all hosts.

Typical resolution: under 45 seconds
